FUND YOUR CENTER!
An anonymous donor has challenged LACA to raise $50,000 and agreed to match it with an additional $50,000 gift between now and November 1. Together we can lay the groundwork for sustainable community arts and culture, turn opportunity into action and build a legacy for future generations. Please join us, fund your center and be the change in your community. fundyourcenter.com

BACKYARD PICKIN' - EVERY WEDNESDAY from 11:30am to 1:00pm, local musicians perform acoustic sets in a relaxed atmosphere and invite you to sit back and enjoy.  Want to join in?  Bring your instrument and sit in on these casual jam sessions.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27 - 4:00PM & 7:00PM - Film screenings of WaterWalk, an independent film based on the book WaterWalk: A Passage of Ghosts by Steven Faulkner.  It chronicles the true story of a journey taken by a father and son in search of each other.  They retrace the harrowing 1,000 mile canoe journey of Father Jacques Marquette and Louis Joliet.  Shot on location here in West Michigan and across the midwest, the film is a scenic tribute to these two French explorers and our beautiful Michigan waterways.  A "talkback" with the film's producer Roger Rapaport to follow the screening.  Family friendly.  All tickets: $5.  See the movie's trailer!  See still photos from the film here!
