Earth Day Celebration - April 18 - 9am-5:00pm

Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day - join AFFEW (A Few Friends of the Environment of the World) for day-long celebration at LACA featuring an Earth Day Visual Art Exhibit in the LACA Gallery, This event will take place at the Center and will include an Indigenous Pipe Ceremony, speakers and workshops on Green Burials, Birds and Climate Change, Social Investing, Rain Gardens, Rain Barrels, Composting, Organic Lawn Care, Home Solar and Wind and more.  Other activities include, kids' activities, booths, silent auction, live music, and healthy snacks and drinks. The O.J. DeJonge Middle School Drama Club will present a readers theater performance of the Dr. Seuss classic "The Lorax" - Directed by Kathy Hansen (The Lorax will be on stage at 7:00pm in the LACA Performance Hall). The Earth Day Celebration on April 18 is an all day FREE event!

The Lakeshore Children's Choir - with Director Cherie' Hockenberger 
Open to All Children grades 3rd, 4th and 5th
Beginning January 15, 2015 from 4:00-5:00pm weekly at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts
The choir is free and anyone can join, no experience needed! All parents must register their children by email: LACAchoir2015@gmail.com
The LACA announces two grant awards received through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs for fiscal year 2015: A MCACA Operational Support grant in the amount of $18,750 will partially support a skilled and dedicated staff, ($1,810 provided by federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts). The LACA also received a MCACA Capital Improvement grant in the amount of $20,000 to replace an antiquated and inefficient boiler heating system with new energy efficient system. This upgrade will substantially conserve energy and will greatly reduce utility costs for the organization for many years to come. Funds from both awards must be matched dollar for dollar through individual and corporate funding. The Ludington Area Center for the Arts invites you to be part of our vibrant arts community on the shore of Lake Michigan.
